Dating (mis)adventures of an unexpectedly sexy New Yorker

  • About Me

I’m a 30-year-old (!!!), single, charming, and totally dorky girl taking on the ridiculous New York dating scene. When guys are surprised to see a sex kitten emerge from behind my dorky exterior, I just smile and reply, “Who ever said that dorks can’t be sexy?" [More]

Feeling so much better

25 Jan 2009

I cannot tell you what a relief it was to hear that good news from the doctor on Friday.  Between that and the birthday festivities, I am really feeling SO much better.  I am slowly starting to feel like myself again, which is such a refreshing perspective after several months of feeling – to be perfectly honest – pretty fucking shitty.  Although I didn’t get laid, I did get some pretty cool b-day presents, including a new knock-off purse (yay!), some nice jewelry, three awesome dinners, and – my b-day present to myself – a curling iron.  Yes, at age 29, I finally coughed up the 10 bucks for a curling iron, and peeps, I don’t know how I lived without it for so long.  It totally rocks!!!  I put that baby to work on my monstrous head of hair this afternoon, and now I look all cute and pretty.  Yay!  Must do this for my next date… whenever that may be.

And finally, an epilogue to the “crossing the linesaga – I talked to the new male prospect again tonight, and things are totally back to normal.  Whew!  So glad.  No flirting, no sex talk, no nothing.  Just our usual friendly conversation, catching up, etc.  Despite our crazy chemistry, I really do value his friendship, and I seriously don’t want to screw it up.  Plus, I would absolutely HATE to screw up his relationship, so I’m glad this is all over.

That’s about all I’ve got for tonight.  I had a busy weekend and am looking forward to crashing on the couch for a bit before the dreaded Sunday-night-going-back-to-work funk kicks in.  Hope you all had a great weekend!  : )

Oh, you silly people that work “real” schedules and have weekends off. You all dread the Sunday night, and I’m just trying to get through three more days of bloody work after three already so I can finally see my girl again. Thankfully I’ve got video games and a website column that’s deadlined soon to get through to pass the time. Otherwise I’d probably have to resort to, I dunno, crystal meth or heroin. I dunno which would be better really. Ah well….

Happy Birthday Darlin. If I had noticed earlier, I might have sent you nude pictures. But alas, the moment has passed, and really, no one wants to see that (well, okay, apparently one person wants to see that). Cheers…

Humphrey Lee – Thanks for the b-day wishes! And seriously, you are NOT allowed to complain anymore now that you have a nice girlfriend and life is all happy and smiley and such. Ok? : )

Shirtless Guy – I hear ya. That shit sucks the life right out of me!
