Happy birthday, happy news
Today is my birthday – yay! : ) I’ve gotta say, I love my birthday. It’s the only day of the year where you can be the center of attention and not feel guilty about it. Love it! People give you hugs and presents and buy you food and drinks and tell you how freaking awesome you are. What’s not to love, seriously?
Today is extra-awesome because I finally got some good news from the doctor yesterday – FINALLY. It looks like everything has stabilized and is in working order, the biopsy results came back negative, the full STD workup came back negative, and I finally got some answers about what the hell has been going on with me. Now we just have to “wait and see” and make sure that things stay exactly the way they are… and if nothing changes in a few weeks, I’ll be a very happy, healthy, 29-year-old dork.
To all of you who have also been going through medical difficulties lately – I feel ya, and I truly wish you all the best. Hang in there.
After receiving the good news yesterday afternoon, I felt as if a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders. It was as if the skies suddenly cleared up and my gloomy funk suddenly dissolved. It’s amazing how much stress and worry is associated with these types of things. My excitement is a little reserved, pending the results of the next few weeks, but I’m feeling so much better mentally and emotionally, not to mention physically. Whew!
I think this is quite possibly the best birthday present ever. : )
I remember how my best friend was during the weeks after his STD test and how they always had a delay in getting the results, etc, and what a relief it was when he got the “all clear.”
