The Dateable Dork

Dating (mis)adventures of an unexpectedly sexy New Yorker

  • About Me

I’m a 30-year-old (!!!), single, charming, and totally dorky girl taking on the ridiculous New York dating scene. When guys are surprised to see a sex kitten emerge from behind my dorky exterior, I just smile and reply, “Who ever said that dorks can’t be sexy?" [More]

Cute little things that make me happy

16 Mar 2009

People, I had a long, shitty day.  I didn’t get home from the office until 10:00 pm!  Hello???  WTF???  My boss has a big meeting tomorrow, and I got stuck doing prep work until late in the evening.  Eww.  I finally stumble into my apartment, tired and hungry, and not five minutes after I get home, I get a cute little “good night” text from my latest eligible bachelor.  Awww.  I cannot tell you how this totally turned my entire night around.  I went from being all annoyed and aggravated to being all mushy and schmoopy and walking around with a big dopey smile on my face.  I gave him a call and we chatted for a few minutes before he had to get to bed and I had to make a late-night dinner, but just those few minutes were enough to put me in a great mood.  Ah, the cuteness.  Just the fact that he was thinking about me and wanted to say goodnight was so adorable, and the fact that I caught him for a few minutes on the phone is even better.  Now this is what I’m talking about, people.  This is what I want – someone to say goodnight to at the end of a long day.  Someone to put a smile on my face.  I’m telling you – don’t underestimate the schmoopiness.  It makes all the difference.  : )
