Still sick, but back home at last
I have arrived safely back in New York after my little business trip, but unfortunately, I still feel like crap. Not as crappy as I did on Monday, but still pretty shitty. I survived the trip with lots of vitamins, a decent night’s sleep at the hotel, and a little nap during the drive back to the airport this afternoon. Bleh. I wish I would have just stayed home and nursed my mysterious plague-like illness instead of sitting in a germ incubator (i.e., airplane) and traipsing around for the last day and a half. But such is life, I guess. Work is work, and there’s not much I can do about it. Hell, I’m very thankful to even have a job these days, so I’ll do what I have to do, you know?Â
I don’t have much to report, other than the fact that the flight attendant on my way back to New York this evening would make the perfect gay best friend. This guy was about my age, very tan and clean cut, with a blond faux-hawk and an extremely giggly personality. He went out of his way to make sure I had enough light while reading my book in the dimming sunlight, and he giggled his way up and down the aisle the entire flight. How cheery! I swear, I wanted to give this guy a hug and ask him for relationship advice over a bag of veggie chips and some toe-nail polish. Is that so wrong? : )
I’m off to bed to catch up on sleep and hopefully wipe out the lingering plague that just won’t seem to go away. A quick Chicago Boy update: he texted me last night at the hotel, and we had a decently cute (albeit completely text-based) conversation. I’m holding on to some hope here…

Stay positive girl…I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this guy is not a jerk.
Hope you feel better before the weekend!
