Dating (mis)adventures of an unexpectedly sexy New Yorker

  • About Me

I’m a 30-year-old (!!!), single, charming, and totally dorky girl taking on the ridiculous New York dating scene. When guys are surprised to see a sex kitten emerge from behind my dorky exterior, I just smile and reply, “Who ever said that dorks can’t be sexy?" [More]

Such a productive weekend!

13 Apr 2009

First of all, sorry for not having a new post up this morning!  Shame on me.  I always try to have something new up on Monday morning, but alas, I just wasn’t feeling the bloggy vibe last night.  Oh well!

But I swear, I had a good excuse: I had SUCH an amazingly productive weekend, and by the time I sat down at the computer last night to write something, I was completely exhausted and just wanted to flop on the couch, have a hot chocolate, and call it a night.  Soooo… what did I get done, you ask?  What, you mean besides work myself up into a hot, sweaty mess lusting after Hot Marine and his ultra-sexy emails?  Riiiiight… about that… well, I’ll get to that in a minute.  First, observe my extremely exciting (ha!) list of miscellaneous errands/chores that I managed to check off this weekend (go me!):

  • Hand-washed some delicate (ahem) clothing itmes that had been waiting around for a few weeks
  • Spent an hour cleaning out the gunk (i.e., petrified hair product) that had accumulated on my flat iron over the past several months
  • Spent most of Saturday hemming (by hand) two new pairs of cargo pants that now fit me perfectly
  • Made it to the grocery store before it closed early (!!!) for Easter
  • Paid my bills
  • Vacuumed the apartment
  • And finally… the mother of all chores… cleaned the bathroom, including a several-hours-long rendezvous with my shower tile/grout and a toothbrush.  Spent the rest of the day admiring my work and being blinded by the extreme whiteness of my sparkly clean shower.  Almost didn’t want to shower this morning and “ruin” all my hard work!

Now, was that a freaking exciting weekend or what???  In case you were wondering, no, I didn’t do anything for Easter yesterday, which left me plenty of time to scrub the bathroom.  Long story short, the Dork family is doing Easter this coming Sunday.  Hope you all had a good Easter/Passover/etc!

I think I mentioned in my last post that I went on a truly crappy date on Friday night.  I was going to write a whole post about it, but truth be told, there isn’t much to say!  It was my second date with this random dude who I wasn’t really crazy about, but since our first date a few weeks ago was kind of a bust due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, and since he seemed like a nice enough guy, I figured I’d give it another shot.  And wouldn’t you know it, I didn’t like him any more the second time around than I did the first.  Shocking.  The only good part was that I got to see Adventureland, which, my dears, was super cute and quite hilarious, if I do say so myself.  Definitely one to catch.

In other news, I finally did get that “sorry I missed you” email from Hot Marine after I had asked him to come over on Friday night and never heard back.  We continued to send hot little emails back and forth yesterday, and get this: Hot Marine, the epitomy of ego-centric, actually got jealous of a story I’d written about an ex.  I sent him the story because I thought it was hot and figured he’d get a kick out of it, like he always had in the past, but he was all upset that the guy from the story was showing him up and that he paled in comparison.  He was like, “this story makes every other guy you’ve slept with sound like a bore.”  WTF, babe?  Don’t you realize that I’ve been lusting after you for the past week?  I cannot BELIEVE that he actually got jealous.  Whatever!  He never fails to surprise me with his shenanigans.

Lesson learned: Hot Marine’s amazingly HUGE ego is a fragile creature that must be constantly stroked.  Who knew.

Hmm… what else?  Oh – remember my medical issues and the fact that my sexual organs no longer function as intended?  Well, I’ve been diligently using that prescription that I picked up last week, and *gasp* it actually seems to be making a *tiny* bit of an improvement.  I still have a few weeks to go, so we’ll see what happens.  For now, I’m optimistic about the results.  Perhaps my girly bits will finally be back to normal after almost a year of drama!  Fingers crossed…

Well, I think that about covers it.  Not much going on these days, but you never know what might be lurking just around the corner… : )
