Shoe shopping extravaganza
Well, I still don’t have anything even remotely exciting to report on the dating front, but my much-anticipated vaginal reconstructive procedure is scheduled for this Tuesday, so I’m sure I’ll have some mildly entertaining stories coming up about that. In WW news, I actually *gasp* purchased a bathroom scale today, so now I know what I really weigh, minus the clothes and everything else that gets in the way of my gloriously slim(mer) body. Turns out clothes weigh a lot, FYI. I think my actual weight is somewhere around 137-138 (as of this morning), which actually makes me pretty happy. My goal is to get to the low 130s, so I’m getting there, slowly but surely.
Anyway, in an attempt to entertain myself and to satisfy my desire to swipe my credit card and bring home something new and shiny, I went shoe shopping today. Dude, I fucking LOVE shoes. As I’ve said before, my dorky salary does NOT allow me to spend anywhere near as much money on shoes as I’d like, but I make the best of what I have. I shopped and shopped and almost hemorrhaged in the store from shoe-related excitement. I even caught myself thinking out loud a few times with phrases like, “Wow, that’s so hot” and “OMG that’s adorable” and “Oh I’m definitely getting these.” Hahaha, other shoppers must have thought I was crazy, and truth be told, I DO get crazy around shoes. Dare I say it – but shoe shopping is even better than sex, and there’s no mess to clean up afterwards. : ) Anyway, here’s my haul:
1. Cute sandals for work/weekend. I liked these immediately because they’re simple and will go with everything, and did I mention that they’re faux-snakeskin? Adorable! The low heel is perfect for the office or for walking around shopping/hanging out/etc.
2. Gladiator sandals. For those of you not plugged into the world of women’s shoes, gladiator sandals are THE shoes to have this summer. I’ve been itching to get my hands on a pair of these for weeks now. It took me a long time to find a pair that fit what I was looking for, and although these aren’t exactly what I wanted, they’re close enough. Bronze straps with silver & turquoise beads and the oh-so-fashionable strap around the ankle. I can’t fucking wait to bust these out. Not sure If I can get away with them at the office, but they’re definitely good for the weekend. BTW, they go perfectly with my cargo pants. Killer!!! *drool*
3. Office shoes. People, these were a little bit of a splurge, but I absolutely could NOT resist the royal blue patent leather! I mean, come on! I’m a red-blooded woman and cannot be expected to pass up such hotness. I absolutely love, love, love these, and they’ll go really well with my work clothes and be nice and comfortable as I’m running around all day. I knew I had to have these as soon as I saw them. So freaking cute. I love the stitching in the back and the little gold buckles, and I love that people will actually notice my shoes when I wear these. I mean, shoes are meant to be noticed! If I had all the money in the world, my feet would always be covered in high-end fabulousness. For now, these will do very nicely. : )
I’ll sleep very well tonight knowing that my shoe collection has grown a little bit, but the million dollar question is this: which ones to wear to work tomorrow??? Decisions, decisions… : )
Hope you all had a great weekend. Why are they always so short?

I can’t stand the gladiator sandal trend. I’ve been cringing at this look since day 1. DD, where are the heels? I expect at least 2.5″ (low balling it for you) heels from someone as dateable as yourself.

Hahaha. : ) As for dating-appropriate-heels, I already have plenty in my closet, and I needed work/everyday shoes. Besides, keep in mind that I become a 6-foot-tall giant in my high heels, and my legs won’t fit under my desk in those things!

casualencounters – Oh, sorry! I’m notoriously lazy about linking to old posts. See the links below for the backstory. Long story short, I got an STD last year and have been dealing with all sorts of bullshit ever since. This will hopefully be the last chapter of the story. Hopefully.
