Dating (mis)adventures of an unexpectedly sexy New Yorker

  • About Me

I’m a 30-year-old (!!!), single, charming, and totally dorky girl taking on the ridiculous New York dating scene. When guys are surprised to see a sex kitten emerge from behind my dorky exterior, I just smile and reply, “Who ever said that dorks can’t be sexy?" [More]

Panic attack approaching…

28 Jul 2010

OMG I am so stressed out about this move!  I am seriously on the verge (for the second time) of a moving-induced panic attack.  Where’s the xanax when you need it???  I had NO IDEA how much work would be involved here, and I am finding myself totally overwhelmed and extremely anxious and on edge.  And I hate to say it because I pride myself on being super independent, but it would have been REALLY nice to have someone to help me with all this shit.  Future husband, I will get you back for this one day!  Ahhhhhhhhhh.  I don’t even know what else to say because I am just so frazzled and worried and generally in a crappy mood.  Give me the strength to get through this in one piece.

T-minus 4 days till moving day… cue music of doom…

“You can do it!” – Rob Schneider, Waterboy.

Hang in there! Moving is taking your life, setting dynamite to it, blowing it into tiny bits, putting the bits on a truck, then putting the pieces back together on delivery.

Party, right? Who wouldn’t want to regularly do that? You’ll get there. Just breathe.

“You can do it all night long!” – Okay, not exactly relevant, but if you have seen the movie, then you know you can’t have one quote without the other. ;) Think of the good times to come!

Eh, even though I’m almost married, so there was two of us, moving is STILL tough.

Can’t you get some girl friends to help you move? How about that married dude you get along so well with? Or NMP, didn’t you say you two are good friends?

Good luck with the move, DD. Soon it will all be behind you! I hope you post some pics of your place once you get settled in. I am curious how a space that small will look furnished.

I remember that stress, and I cheated and used some of my savings to pay for movers. Moving is always bad, but the good news is that at the end you are in geek heaven (grad school) with a whole new city of (hopefully) eligible bachelors to pursue.

Got something to say?
